Yishay Hogesta’s combination of material and gesture is dynamic and fluid. The painter’s background in cinematography informs his approach to the planning and execution of these large works. The interplay between light, form, and movement create a narrative effect that permits the viewer to examine these process-driven works. The balance and progression of the compositions can be read in stages, with a beginning, middle, and end.
Hogesta’s panels are both direct and immediate.
